WEEK 9 ASSIGNMENT: Bring your inspiration!

Mini Assignment: 

Begin thinking about 3D printing as a tool for designers, whether prototyping, a tool in the process of material or fashion design, or a means of final representation of their ideas for example in architecture.

Why 3D printing?

Compile a slide presentation of 5 different artists or designers that work with 3D printing. [ Use the same presentation template as in the OneDrive. These inspirations are different than the ones at the beginning of the semester. ]

Create a blog posts that includes your slides (images, artist names, reason for inspiration, reflections). As always, upload your presentations into the One Drive. 

Reflect on: 

  • What interests you about their work or method of using 3D printing
  • How have they presented their designs/projects? 
  • If they have used software, can you research what software they have used?
  • What type of 3D printing is it? (layer based, resin, powder based print, custom material work, etc).
  • What material are they working with?
